The beloved disciple, the one who rested on your breast during the Holy Communion, the one whom tradition calls Saint John, has not ceased in his life to invite us to live this love. To love one another as Jesus loved us, to remain in His love, to live His love not with words, but with actions and in truth.
Thank you for the disciple of your heart, thank you for the witness of your great love. As He asks, we come to immerse ourselves in Your Heart to find within it the treasures of grace that will allow us not only to love others as ourselves, but even more so, to love even our enemies. We offer You our hearts, hard and cold as stone, so that You may transform them into hearts of flesh.
Think of the indignations, offenses, and humiliations that Jesus suffered. He was mistreated, he was treated as the culprit of our worst sins. He seems to say to us, "Why do you despair when you suffer? Is this the way you love me? Meditate on my Passion and find in it rich spiritual nourishment." Allow us to ask for the gift of patience and accept all humiliations, thinking of how Jesus suffered for us.
Dear Lord, source of mercy and love, I come to you with a wounded soul and a weary heart.
You know what lies deep within me: my fears, my anxieties, my most silent needs.
Give me the strength I need to move forward when all seems lost.
Shed your light on my path, illuminate my decisions, and open doors that today I see closed.
Free me from the evil I cannot see, heal my body, my mind, and my spirit.
Break the chains that bind me to pain, sadness, or despair.
You are my refuge, my rock, and my defender.
In you I place my life, my dreams, and my worries.
Do not abandon me, Lord, because without You, nothing makes sense.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in Your will.
I trust that You will work out what is best for me, even when I don't understand it.
Thank you for loving me, for listening to me, and for always being by my side. Amen.
May this prayer fill you with peace and remind you that you are not alone. Keep faith alive in your heart and continue walking with hope.
